What if, instead of wasting your time on a list of resolutions that you may or may not remember come February, this year you decide to dump the resolutions! Then, in their place you apply the simple mantra “I Am Ready For Change” and get ready to work towards a better and more fulfilling life.
To build the life you want consider starting by grabbing each day with both hands. Recognise that life is full of ups and downs and without the downs we would not experience the ups. Also remember that tomorrow is another day and that the laws of attraction are always at play. Your mind is more powerful than you think and what you think is often what you get.
While you’re making the most out of your time remember to laugh and laugh often! Recent research suggests that a good belly laugh can lower blood pressure, increase immune response and help you relax and get more sleep. There are even those who report a diet of comedies—such as those old films by the Marx Brothers. In fact I have already started to search for comedians on Netflix this festive season and we have had some great fun nights, full of laughter, it’s so good for the soul.
Visualise your future success and don’t give up on it. If there’s something in your heart that you truly want, work towards it little by little. One step at a time is all it takes to reap big rewards. Remember real and imagined are the same thing to the subconscious, so by imaging or visualising it you are already half way there.
Give! Use your time, your skills, abilities and talents to help someone in need. Just the simple act of volunteering can lead to a more fulfilled life, but if you need extra incentive a 2007 study found that donating money or time releases dopamine and endorphins in your brain resulting on a “hedonic” buzz in the giver.
Whether you decided to write resolutions for 2016 or not I’d really encourage you to keep these four things in mind through out the year. They may seem small and simple but they really can have a profound and positive effect on your life. So are you ready to dump the resolutions and say after me “I Am Ready For Change”?
Happy New Year
Excellent! Relevant! Encouraging. Thank you Elaine
